Nothing Changes If Nothing Changes

Nothing changes if nothing changes.

It takes courage to change. Courage that comes from a deep desire within, courage supported by those who truly care about you, and courage from a source outside of you, a higher source.

met a group of ordinary people living extraordinary lives, based on simplicity, honesty, and faith. They took me under their wing and became my sisters, brothers, my fathers, my mothers, my friends and led me down a path that showed me how to live, no matter how I felt. They showed me that feelings needn’t drive my actions or inactions, that how I felt wasn’t right or wrong, it just is, and that I could move past the emotion, let the storm settle and be still. I learned to identify fear and all it’s sources, pray simple prayers and ask for peace. To wrote down the drama that dominated my thinking and share with someone who would listen without judging. I realized I had allowed fear to drive me, people to play me , and circumstances to control me , but now I could face life anew, make new choices and new decisions and ask God for guidance, and that I could have purpose, peace, and power even in the midst of the storm, like a bird finding safe haven in the cave of a cliff, while wind and rain crashed against it.

The storms of life have their purpose, too, as I left places of comfort and found new strength and vision, and a gift by enduring, perseverance, prayer and faith, Gods mercy and goodness always following me.

Hardship is often the path to peace.

Along the way, I have let go of much, but was never left empty handed.

What have you learned in your life journeys?

What have you let go of?
